ANYONE WHO IS STILL IMPROBABLY CHECKING THIS WEBSITE

As you may have suspected, Looka Look Books is pretty much done. Finished.

We'll never work in this town again.

Our art careers are NOT, nor EVER HAVE BEEN, over.

    WE'RE HUFF-CO COMICS.

(Frankly, this Squarespace site is really super annoying to try and edit, which is one of the reasons we never edit it)

And just so you KNOW, Ari Huff's comic "The Magnificent Osterman Brothers" got put on the notable comics list of "Best American Comics 2012". Yeah. Don't believe us??? It's TRUE.

    A NEW QUILT OF SQUARES

    Please gaze upon

    Our new quilt of squares,

    It's been oh so long

    For those ones who care

Have some time to spend looking at cool art?

Here are three weeks worth of art

    One art per day.

    21 arts!

Some by Asa, some by Ari, some by Raph.

NOTE: Wierdmans can pretty much be read in any order, BUT, if you're confused about what seems to be going on in the Ostermans pages, you can easily read the whole story by clicking "fictions" in the links above.

    MEGA ROUND-UP

These aren't exactly in order, but here's everything that's new around here since we last rounded her on up. We recommend that you check twice to make sure you haven't missed anything.

Here goes, top row left to right (click on the images above for more specific linking):

1 & 2. Raph and Ari's Ivan Brunetti experiments, which we will be continuing soon even though doing the first one almost made everything we love go rotten. Here you can do an A-B comparison of R. Huff's and A. Huff's attempt and see that they are STRIKINGLY SIMILAR. Read more about it below and here and here

    3. Wierdman Episode One, winding down. This is the second-to-last, and finds W.M. trying to readjust to Wierd Life.

    4. Osterman Brothers #3 page 27. Who knew that Eddie Shine was going to be such an important character? Ari didn't.

    5. Raphie's Dancing Bug that really can dance.

    6. Gem-pocked and text-dense anti-birthday present from Raph to Raph. Just everybody notice at this time that most of these posts have been courtesy of Littlest Huff, and say to yourself - do it quietly if someone else is sleeping in the room - "Go Raph". You are keeping us all afloat, don't forget it.

    7. The final Wierdman of the first chapter!!! What do you think he's going to do next?? Stay tuned to find out, because you will.

    Second row left to right:

    1. Osterman Brothers. S is for Save Me. Page 28. I already don't remember what happened on this page.

    2. Raph does commissions, and they turn out beautiful. They also turn out to fit neatly into the pre-school zeitgeist, so double yes.

    3. Doma Poster for October. Ari guesses that if one is not being paid to do a thing then that means that one has carte blanche. Ari guesses that this means always doing the thing in the most hard and time-consuming fashion possible. (Doma: Just use one of the old images! You're making us feel bad." Ari: "No. No! I do what I want!") This said, someone owes Ari $2.59 for another "bleu pale - bluish pale 371" pencil.

    4. Raphie's EXTREMELY SPECTACULAR Dance of the Day of the Month, "The Catfish Slide." Study it. Learn it. Do it in public places.

    5. Ari's note to a 9-year-old on a field trip, with goblins. There are often goblins.

    6. Ostermans part 3 page 29. Ari says this is a special double-length fugue-chapter...

    7. And Ari's socks were about knocked off by this Pheonzine cover that Raphie did. Holy crap, man. Did you look at it? You should.

    Third row left to right:

    1. Ari's banner drawing for the new CarlosmartinCarle.com. This is a puppy website right now, but just wait and see.

    2. A little amuse bouche palette cleanser between chapters, the front cover drawing for Wierdman #2, by Ari.

    3. Osterman Brothers  page 30. Teenage Ostermans in Despair.

4 & 5. October Phoenzine Cover - don't know about you, but Ari had to put on two new pairs of socks because the socks kept getting knocked off. Here's a way to brighten your day with one small action: take a minute and look CLOSELY.

    6. Doma Poster for November, image re-purposed to some success. If you're in New York, take a look at this line-up, mark it in your calendar, and rejoice.

    7. You might have thought that we were flagging around here, and that might be true sort of - but we never went away. Posting got a little wicky-wacky, but so does life. We are here and working hard.

    WHAT'S GOIN' ON?

It's not like there haven't been ANY new items posted here, it's just that they have been willy-nilly. Ari's scanner turned out to not work with her new Old Computer, but as a result she is now 9 pages ahead on Ostermans, so we're going back to two pages a week. In fact, this week we're on track to be back on schedule in ALL the areas.

We know that you'll be relieved to hear it.

More soon. Beautiful array of thumbnails for you to click on soon.

    Huff stuff

    I'm tie-ood!

This is cute. What's next - an entire chart of cuter bugs??

    Yes.

Arlie Huff is a great man livin the life and cultivating his creative gardens!

This is most hilarious! Wierdman gets someone's name wrong AGAIN??

You can always tell when Ari's the one doing the weekly roundup because her work is always the only one without a single adjective of praise. TALENTED GROUNDBREAKING AND GREAT

    Oh those O BrosRaph's practicing her spontaneous, no-erase drawings. She's tie-ood though
